Little Red Wagon # 248 - Oh Snap!

Welcome back, it's time for another fabulous Wednesday challenge over at Little Red Wagon.

This week out hostess is JOANNE and her challenge is called OH SNAP! So that means she would like to see a camera somewhere on your project. What will that project be? Well you can make a card, a layout or even an altered item, just made sure it's a paper craft!

I was excited about this weeks challenge. There are a few images that I am really drawn to and these include:

  • Coffee themed
  • Cute little girls with glasses (always reminds me of my daughter)
  • and cute camera themed images
I used a new digital image from Sassy Cheryl's Stamps called Nimble Musicians of the Air.

I kept the card fairly clean and simple using paper from Simple Stories Daily Grind 6x6 paper pad.

I printed the image larger than usual because I wanted it to be stand out on my card. The image is coloured with Copic markers.

Inside the card I stamped out a couple of Polaroid frames from a Maya Road set called "You've Been Framed". I also added a camera and sentiment cut out of the Daily Grind paper and included a friendship sentiment from Hero Arts Friends stamp set.

Now that you have taken a look at my card this week, head over to the Little Red Wagon Challenge blog and join our OH SNAP challenge. While you are there remember to stop by each of the Girlfriend's blogs to see some fabulous inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by and please come back soon.

Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Little Red Wagon # 247 Christmas in July

Hello everyone, it is time for another FABULOUS challenge over at Little Red Wagon.

This week Jan is hosting our challenge and our theme is.......CHRISTMAS IN JULY!!!!

Having just returned from a nice and relaxing vacation, Christmas has definitely been the furthest thing from my mind. Lucky for me I had a cute image coloured from last season that hadn't yet made her way to a holiday card.

For my first Christmas card of the season I used an adorable digital image from Tiddlyinks called Mini in Lights.

In my Christmas stash I pulled out some paper from KaiserCraft (Mint Twist) and a fun die cut heart from Bella Blvd Christmas Countdown. I also found some fun glitter paper and the bulb charms in my holiday stash for this card.

Mini is coloured with Copic markers. To create the sparkly dress I first coloured, then I added liquid glue and sprinkled her with Glitter Ritz Micro fine glitter. On her glasses I added Glossy Accents.

For the inside of the card I decorated using a Simple Stories Snap Christmas tag.

Feeling like getting your JINGLE on for this weeks Christmas in July challenge. Link up your projects over at the Little Red Wagon blog and while you are there check out the Holiday projects by the other Girlfriends.

Happy Crafting!

Little Red Wagon # 246 - I need a Vacation

Welcome to this week's challenge over at Little Red Wagon.

This week I am hosting the challenge and since I am enjoying a bit of downtime (from work), I am calling this challenge I NEED A VACATION!

What exactly does that mean? Well it means you can create a card or project with a vacation or travel theme. You could show a mode of transportation, a travel destination, a vacation activity or travel themed items such as luggage, maps, passports or postcards (just to name a few).

There are lots of possibilities and since I am enjoying a bit of rest and relaxation right now, I am not going to be too picky on your interpretation of this challenge! Just have fun!

For my card this week I focused on a vacation activity like surfing and going to the beach. Not that I have ever surfed, but I do enjoy the beach!

The Simple Stories summer collections (Walking on Sunshine, Snap Summer) went really well with this fun image called Surfer Ian from Greeting Farm. My surf board was hand cut and the Hawaiian shirt was cut using my Cricut Pack your Bags cartridge. To finish off my vacation theme I added a fun post card from an older Simple Stories collection with a sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Beachy Keen set.

Surfer Ian is coloured with Copic markers and unfortunately I wasn't successful in achieving a tanned look like I wanted. Instead I got more of a "forgot to apply sun screen" look to his skin.

I kept the inside of the card simple and used the bottom portion of one of the Simple Stories 12x12 pages that included this fun car scene. For my sentiment I added a card from the Snap Summer set.

If you have a bit of crafting time this week, I hope you will join our I NEED A VACATION challenge over at Little Red Wagon. While your are there check out the fun projects the other Girlfriends have made. There will be plenty of inspiration to get your moving.

Have a wonderful Wednesday and happy crafting.

Little Red Wagon # 245 - Happy Anniversary

It's time for another fabulous challenge over at Little Red Wagon!

This week Jayne is setting our challenge and her theme is HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

For this challenge I worked with two areas that really challenge me:

  1. Clean and Simple
  2. Masculine

Here a simple anniversary card just right for that special man in your life. Except mine however as he would question why I was using a coffee theme to express my love, since he cannot stand the stuff. Crazy I know!

The image is Fiskars Latte Love and I paired that with some masculine papers in my stash from Kaiser Craft's Utopia Collection. The image is coloured with Copic markers. The heart was paper pieced and the entire image cut out using the fun Stitched Journalling die from Lawn Fawn.

Inside the card I used kraft card stock with additional patterned paper and another cup of coffee and my anniversary sentiment.

I hope you can join this weeks HAPPY ANNIVERSARY challenge over a Little Red Wagon. Don't forget to check out to fun creations by the other Girlfriends.

Thanks for dropping in to see me!

Trading Places Layout

I had another fabulous opportunity to create a layout for Two Scrapbook Friends using the fun Simple Stories line called HEY POP.

When I selected this paper, I knew which pictures I wanted to use. I don't often scrap my husband, so I figured on those rare occasions I should try and stick with something more masculine. As you can see I love my layers and I had a lot of fun adding embellishments this this page.

I also love playing around with modelling paste and here I added dimension with the paste which was tinted to be more grey in colour and applied using a great layering stencil from Tim Holtz.

My daughter loves wearing my husbands hats and in these photos my husband was taking selfies of the two of them trading hats. I love that he took a picture of him wearing her hat.

Along with the Hey Pop collection, I decorated a few of the Simple Stories DIY tags. I also added wood stars, gears and the fun film strip (Tim Hotlz). The cork arrows and letters from Little Yellow Bicycle added great texture to the page.

I have done a few layouts where I distressed the paper by ripping and inking the paper. The ripped area is the perfect place to tuck a few embellishments.

I love this embellishment cluster which centres around the fun filmstrip sentiment that comes with this collection on one of the cut a part pages. I like to repeat many of my embellishments in my various clusters to really tie everything together.

At the bottom I added additional distressing and twine tied in a fun way.

Thanks for stopping by. You can find the Simple Stories Hey Pop line and many more fun goodies over at Two Scrapbook Friends online store!

Little Red Wagon # 244 - Summer

Welcome to another fun challenge over at Little Red Wagon.

This week Rosanne is our challenge hostess and her theme for this week is SUMMER! Well with a theme like that the options are endless. Choose an image, activity, or colours that remind you of summer and you are ready to go!

For my card I used an image from Art Impression called Beach Babes. I picked this set up at Michaels. With the image I used paper from Echo Park called Summer Bliss.

Here is a closer look at this fab beach babe. I coloured the image with Copic markers.

Inside the card I added the second image from this set along with another of the sassy sentiments.

Summer is here and what better way to celebrate that with a card. And if you have that card you may as well share it with us over at Little Red Wagon for this weeks Summer theme challenge. While you are there check out the HOT inspiration the other Girlfriends are sharing!

Have a very crafty Wednesday!

Thank You, Thank You Beary Much!

Happy Canada Day to all my crafty Canadian Friends!

I am sharing a quick clean and simple card that I created using Lulu and Friends by Cheryl Alger for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Cheryl's designs for Kraftin' Kimmie and Sassy Cheryl's Stamps are among some of my absolute favourites.

Usually CAS gives me a bit of a challenge. This one came together pretty nicely. Okay confession time, this is actually my second attempt at CAS. My first card (which I will save for a later post) started off CAS, but I went a bit too far with my layers. Oops!

With my image I used paper from Lawn Fawn's Hello Sunshine 6x6 pad. The button is wood veneer which I cover in liquid glue (zig two-way glue pen) and added Rose coloured Glitter Ritz microfine glitter.

The image is coloured with Copic markers. I was working on my colouring of white with the bear.

One of my favourite ways to decorate the inside of my cards is re-stamping the image usually in a coordinating ink colour.  Along with the image, I added more paper and 2 of the sentiments from this set.

Thanks for stopping in to see my latest creation. Tomorrow come back and see my card for our next Little Red Wagon challenge.
