Your Next Stamp Sketch/Colour Challenge # 46 - Silly Monster Rockstars!

Hello and welcome to another week of the Your Next Stamp sketch/colour challenge #46.

Every two weeks, there is a new challenge that features a sketch and colour inspiration. Pick the one that inspires you most, or try both for an added challenge. The best part of these challenges is you could win a gift certificate to the YNS store!

When using the colour inspiration, you must use at least 3 colours. You may also add neutrals

This week I used the new release Silly Monster Rockstars stamp and dies and created this Happy Birthday shaker card.

As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to make a shaker card. I used two of the Stitched Rectangles for my frame and added the happy birthday sentiment from the Big Birthday Balloon die set.

I love this set and I had so much fun colouring the fur on this rocker.

Here is a look at the inside of this card.

For the sketch/colour challenge # 46, you will have until Thursday September 1st (midnight EST) to play along. Head over to the Your Next Stamp blog for more inspiration and to link up your creation.

One random participant will win a $15 gift card to the YNS store. If you feature YNS products (it must be the main focus of your project), you will receive an additional $5. When you use a YNS stamp/die, there is a chance of being selected as the YNS top pick. The winner and top pick are announced on the YNS blog, the Sunday after the close of the challenge.

If you use YNS products on your project, you can also take part in the YNS Social Media challenge. Your Next Stamp Designer Showcase - Birthday!

It has been a great month as we continue to celebrate Your Next Stamp's 7th birthday. We are continuing the party with a great feature series and another chance this week for a prize!

This week we have a special series taking place over on the Your Next Stamp blog and it's all about birthdays! There will be a variety of birthday themed projects showcased all week, so you will want to check it out each day.

My birthday project is a great gift for that bookworm in your life. I created a card along with a gift card holder and a bookmark. The card is decorated using Birthday Phoebe along with the Overdue Library Card and the Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Big Birthday Balloon dies set. All of the paper is from Simple Stories Sunshine and Happiness collection.

If you book lover is more than a bookworm, then perhaps a book MONSTER would work better. I used the books from the Birthday Phoebe stamps, adding one of the cute monsters from the Silly Monsters set. The bookmark was created with the second largest die from the Bookmark/Tag set.

I find most avid readers are very happy receiving a gift card from their favourite bookstore. I created a gift card holder using the Medium Tear Away die and Tear Away Tab Sentiments Two.

If you want to see more amazing birthday projects head over to the YNS blog.

There is a chance to WIN a stamp set of your choice by leaving a comment over at the YNS blog. Leave a comment each during our birthday features (August 15 to 18) for greater odds of winning. At the end of the feature week, a winner will be drawn from all the comments.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!

Your Next Stamp August Release Hop and Birthday Celebration

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Your Next Stamp, happy birthday to you!!!!

This month is a great month for birthday celebrations! I celebrated a rather big birthday earlier this week and now we are celebrating the 7th birthday for Your Next Stamp! It's also time to share the new August released stamps and dies, so there are a lot of reason to be happy and celebrating right now.

Today we have an amazing blog hop to showcase so many fabulous stamps, dies and now paper! This month we have a number of talented guest joining us for our birthday hop celebration. Sit back, grab a beverage and maybe a pen and paper to joint down an item or two or three for your wish list.

Do you have a planner? I actually have two at the moment. My first planner was a homemade one using a small binder, however printing my own planner pages was taking too much time. Recently I decided to change my planner and switched over to the Simple Stories Carpe Diem planner. What better to break in my new planner than using fabulous new planner stamps. I had a great time decorating my August page with the new Rec and Leisure planner set along with a number of other stamps from this months release.

I didn't want to create a lot of bulk with my planner by adding a lot of extra paper and stickers. I used the Lots of Dots edge stamp to fill in the empty date square and the Mini Letters and Numbers stamp to mark my days.

I don't colour in my planner, however I do like to used a lot of fun ink colours to document events and activities each month. I also like to colour code some activities for each member of the family.

YNS products used: Rec and Leisure Planning, Mini Letters and Numbers, Birthday Chickie, Lots of Dots Edge, Love to Plan One. Other Items: Simple Stories Sunshine and Happiness

For my second card, I used the darling Bluebell Bunny stamp and die, along with the Stitched Rectangle die to create a simple layered card.

YNS products used: Bluebell Bunny stamp and die, Stitched Rectangle die. Other Items: Doodlebug Spring Garden paper

In celebration of this amazing birthday release, Karen is offer some wonderful deals!

Thank you for joining us for our birthday celebration release hop! I hope you found a little inspiration and maybe a few stamps or dies that you'd like to add to your YNS collection. As you are hoping along, we would love for you to leave a comment. There will be 7 - $25 YNS gift certificates available to win, so the more blogs you visit, the greater your chances!

Remember to also come back to the YNS blog on August 10th to check out the latest Design Team Daren challenge.
