Your Next Stamp CAS Inspiration Series

Today I am sharing a post that is on the Your Next Stamp blog which is part of a series on CAS inspiration.

I am going to admit I did freak out just a bit when I received this first DT inspiration assignment. CAS is not my go to style and there have been so many amazing posts by my fellow DT what else can I share with you.

How about CAS layers without bulk!

For my card I used the amazing Heart Doily Die set.

I used all of the pieces of this amazing die set, running it through my Cuttlebug 4 times on different colours of card stock. I then assembled the die pieces on my card just like putting together a puzzle.

To avoid the additional bulk of multiple layers I inlaid my die into my white background layer. This is done by using the larges die cut element on your background card stock. It is really quick and easy and fun to create fun patterns with your various colours. The sentiment was created using the Skinny Font Alpha set.

Inside the card I created a frame for my sentiment using leftover die cut pieces. The sentiment is a great set that I use a lot on my cards called Heartfelt Sentiments.

Feel inspired to get your CAS groove on? Check out the Your Next Stamp blog for more CAS inspiration by the DT.

Your Next Stamp Fun Friday

Today I am sharing a card for the last YOUR NEXT STAMP Fun Friday challenge for September. These challenges run all month long and you can find inspiration in either:

a sketch and/or a fun photo

This week I was inspired to playing around with the fabulous sketch. I created a fall card using the Hot Stuff Mugs stamp set and one of my new favourites the Mini Ink Splatter stamp.

I created a simple "scene" for my card stamping out one of the mug images four times with brown ink. I stamped one mug with the fall them twice using the brown ink on white card stock and on orange. I fussy cut the leaf and used the Happy Holidays die set to cut out the mug. This was then adhered to the card with dimensional adhesive.

Here is a look at the inside of the card.

Check out this month's challenge details on the Your Next Stamp Challenge blog. Play along this month for a chance to win a $20 YNS gift certificate, be selected as a top pick or win a guest design spot.

Thanks for dropping in today and have a fabulous crafty Friday!

Little Red Wagon # 256 Fall

Welcome to another fun challenge over at Little Red Wagon. This week Carolyn is hosting and her challenge is all about the FALL season. Create a new project with a fall theme and join our challenge.

I love creating fall cards. Thanksgiving, Halloween and well just fall. I love the images, the colours and all the fun papers and embellishments. For my card this week I used a digital image from Sassy Cheryl's stamps called A Bear for All Seasons.

I love the fall colours and get really excited when I can find paper that includes colours other than orange and brown. The colours in the Webster's Pages Family Traditions paper are amazing and I have used this collection so many times on fall cards.

I hope you have time to play along with this week's FALL challenge at Little Red Wagon. Link up your projects over at the blog and while you are there please check out the fabulous and inspiring creations from the other GIRLFRIENDS.

Thanks for stopping by and have a super crafty day!

Your Next Stamp September Feature

Hello everyone, welcome back to our monthly special feature from Your Next Stamp.

This month the Design team is having fun with creating Fall/Halloween or Thanksgiving projects.

Since Thanksgiving here in Canada is only a few weeks away, I used the new September released set called Gobble Gobble to create a delicious card.

Of course Thanksgiving just wouldn't be complete without pie. Do you have a favourite? Although it's not really a Thanksgiving pie I really like Lemon Meringue.

I coloured up my pumpkin pie with Copic markers and used the coordinating Gobble Gobble die to cut out my image. I also used the Mini Ink Splatter stamp. I just love this stamp and the look of mess without making a mess!

Although my last couple of cards did not feature the card's insides, I am back on track with making them fun and decorated. Here I feature our cute turkey and my favourite sentiment from Gobble Gobble.

Head over to the Your Next Stamp blog to see all of the Design Team's featured projects today. Don't forget to leave a comment while you are at the YNS blog because you could win a prize.

Thanks for dropping in and please come back soon.

I love creating cards for Halloween. I mean who wouldn’t love receiving sassy WITCHYPOO. Isn’t she fabulous? I added a lot of layers, but kept the design simple (no additional embellishments). I used paper from We R Memory Keepers Black Widow collection.

You will also see that I am back again with colouring more black. I absolutely love it. I am getting a better feel for the blending with these colours and I look forward to using more black in my designs. Getting the right shading for white, still freaks me out a bit!

Little Red Wagon # 255 Get in Shape!

Today we have another great challenge on the Little Red Wagon Blog

Our fabulous hostess Janice is challenging us to GET IN SHAPE! No you don’t need to get your work out gear on or head to the gym. Janice is looking for a shaped card, preferably one without using rectangles and if possible circles. You know think outside the box right? Easier said than done!

I didn’t quite follow the rules very well for this challenge, because my card is fairly rectangular-ish. Oops! In my defence I have been crazy busy with work, home, kids, husband and crafts, so I am lucky to remember to eat and dress in something that matches some days.

For my shaped card I went for something that is dear to my daily routine. Yes my coffee or in a lot of cases latte addiction! I just love the fall Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks! So with coffee on the brain, this week I created a fun coffee cup shaped card. I paired this with a cute image from Your Next Stamp called Ellie Loves Latte.

Despite my card being not far off from a rectangle, I do think I should get a few points awarded because my shaped card was all created by hand. No die cut machine involved. I am sure my Silhouette wielding Girlfriends could have whipped this up in half of the time I did. I played around with a few scraps to get the desired shape/size and then created the card base from white cardstock with a fold at the top. I had the kraft corrugated card stock in my stash and it worked perfectly as the “sleeve” for my cup.

You may have noticed that I don’t have an inside photo of the card. Sorry, I didn’t decorate the inside, this time. My plan is to tuck in a gift card inside for the lucky recipient.

Are you ready to get in SHAPE? Join this week’s challenge and link up your projects at the Little Red Wagon blog. If you are looking for a bit of inspiration, then check out what the other Girlfriends have worked up for this week’s challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today and please come back again soon.

Today the Design Team would like to continue celebrating this wonderful release by showing off a few more projects. You can see the complete list of after party projects on the Your Next Stamp blog.

Today I am using the Piles of Smiles stamp set. I just love that there is and matching die for this set. I am not that great with my fussy cutting and well just the time saves is worth it.

I love fall colours and the Reflections paper from Echo Park was perfect to go with this sweet little squirrel. I manage to add a bit of fall foliage (Michaels) for embellishments and of course the every fabulous Apricot Gumdrops.

Inside the card I used the leaves from the Piles of Smiles die set on some of the scraps to decorate the inside of the card.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps September Release Blog Hop

Have you been enjoying this weeks peeks? The September release at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps are amazing! Panda Bears, Zombies and the sweetest Cave Kids ever!

Today we are back with a KRAFTY BLOG HOP to celebrate this amazing new release. Join the Krafty girls and Guests as we share and hopefully inspire you with these amazing new stamps. This week we have previewed a lot of FABULOUS stamps from all of the talented artists.

We started with the adorable panda bears from WILD ABOUT YOU.

Then we featured the Freak but Chic Zombie gals of TRICK OR EAT!

and last but certainly not least the DINO-mite set from Cheryl Grant featuring the ever sweet Lulu, Lexi and Lucas calls CAVE KIDS.

Today, for our release hop I am sharing a card using an image from WILD ABOUT YOU!

Usually I avoid colouring black and white on my images. I have struggled to get the right look, shading and depth with those colours. Coming face to face with these adorable panda's, I decided to face my fears and I thinks they turned out nicely!

For the shading in my white areas, I used my warm greys (W00, 01, 03) just lightly around the outside. For the black, I used a larger range of the cool greys (c00, 01, 03, 05, 07 and 09) and starting with my lightest, worked up adding layers to the darkest, then went reverse back down to my lightest.

I love the paper in the Fancy Pants What a Wonderful Day and with the black card stock the patterned paper really pops with this image. I cut out simple triangle shapes to create the banner and adhere a small punched heart (covered with glitter) and black Doodlebug Sprinkles. On the bubble I used a little bit of Glossy Accents.

Inside the card I didn't add one of the stamped images (like I usually do). I did find this fabulous bamboo that I was able to die cut on my Cricut (Create a Critter).

Now it's time to continue hoppin' along and checking out the other UN-BEAR-ABLY cute creations by the rest of this amazing group of Krafty Girls and Guests. Remember to leave a comment on each of the blogs on this hop because a lucky winner will enjoy a $25 gift card to the shop.

So get HOPPIN', then go SHOPPIN'. Head over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Shop to see all of the amazing new stamps. While you are there check out past releases and other fabulous stamps, paper, mounting supplies.......... so many great things to check out.

Your Next Stamp September Release Hop

Hello everyone, it's once again time for another amazing release at YOUR NEXT STAMP. You are going to love our FABULOUS September New Release Blog Hop!

As the weather transitions to crisp mornings and the leaves start to fall from the trees, my fellow DT members and I have been hard at work creating fabulous fall themed inspiration for you! We have a fun September lineup of stamps and dies for you this month. We know you are going to FALL in love with the new dies and our HARVEST CHARACTERS!!! If you love interactive cards, we have the perfect dies for you! Want to try splattering ink, but worried that it will look messy? Have no fear, our INK SPLATTER stamp will solve that! Everything is available now in the YNS store.

Today's hop begins on PEGGY'S blog and if you've been hopping along, you should have come from our fabulous Guest Designer MAUREEN'S blog. Make sure you hop around to all of the blogs featured in the list below. You will find lots of inspiration using these new products. Leave a comment on all of the blogs and you will have a chance to WIN a $20.00 YNS gift certificate. The lucky winners will be announced on the Your Next Stamp Blog September 18th.

For my first project I used the fun GOBBLE GOBBLE stamp. This adorable image also has a matching die.

I kept my card design simple and used circle dies to create a window for my cute turkey. I included one of the sets sentiments and added a few delicious GUM DROPS (apricot). To create depth to my turkey I stamped the image twice. I coloured the tail feathers in the back ground layer. Then coloured the body on the second image, fussy cutting and adhering the top layer with dimensional adhesive.

Inside my card I stamped my turkey image and added additional sentiments from this set.

For my second project I created a card that is not my usual style. Why is that you ask?

No coloured images! I know crazy right? I do surprise myself once in a while.

For this card I used the SPOOKTACULAR sentiment set called GHOSTLY GREETING and the new amazing CHEVRON DIE.

On the outside of my card I worked with the negative space created by the die. I added a pop of green card stock that I covered in Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter. My die cut layer is adhered to the card with dimensional adhesive.  On this card I used the black GUMDROPS.

Inside my card I used the chevron die cut on the green card stock which I again covered with glitter. How did I do this you ask? Run the pieces through your Xyron Sticker maker, cover with glitter, shake off the excess and burnish the glitter into the paper well and voila!

To finish off, I added an additional sentiment and sweet spider from the new HALLOWEEN CUTIES  set.

You may have read that YNS is getting ready to launch a NEW website in October and discontinuing the Digital Stamps line. We'll also be retiring plenty of stamps so NOW is the time to stock up on your WISH LIST! Check out all of the stamps that are retiring here.

Our favourite little darlings Lulu, Lexi and Lucas are simply DINO-mite in the new CAVE KIDS set.  I used the ever fabulous Miss Lulu on my card.

This lil' prehistoric cutie Lulu is styling in her fur dress. The effect was created using pink and blue Sparkly Fluff. I stamped the image twice and applied liquid glue (Zig two way glue) first to the spots applying the blue fluff, then the rest of the dress with the pink fluff. I then paper pieced the dress onto my Copic coloured image.

On the inside, I used a few scraps of my pattern paper (Bo Bunny Modern Miss and Pink Paislee Pen Pals) and added Lucus, the cute dino and two of the sets sentiments.
