Your Next Stamp - Year in Review Blog Hop (Birthday Phoebe)

Hello everyone and welcome to the Your Next Stamp December Year in Review hop.

We don't have new stamps releasing this month, however the Design Team is sharing their favourite stamp and/or die set from this year!

At first, I thought this was going to be a tough decision. There have been so many amazing sets this year which I absolutely love. However, when I started to go over all of my YNS creations for 2016, one stamp set jump out as my most used. My most used is usually my most loved (for that year).

Now you may be surprised that it's not a coffee related stamp, however it does involve BOOKS!

My favourite stamp set for this year is BIRTHDAY PHOEBE! This set really should be called Bookworm Phoebe, because I have only used little Miss Phoebe sitting on that stack of books. As an avid reader and living in a house of bookworms, this stamp is hardly tucked away before I drag it back out.

Here are a few of my other Birthday Phoebe projects from this year:

Thanks for joining us for our walk down memory lane with our favourite sets from 2016. I hope you found some of your own favourites and maybe a few new ones to add to your Christmas crafty wish list!

Leave a comment on each of the blogs as you are hoping along. There is a giveaway of a $25 YNS Gift Certificate for one lucky crafter. The more blogs you comment on, the greater your chance to WIN!

Have a super crafty day!

Your Next Stamp Designer Showcase - Birthday!

It has been a great month as we continue to celebrate Your Next Stamp's 7th birthday. We are continuing the party with a great feature series and another chance this week for a prize!

This week we have a special series taking place over on the Your Next Stamp blog and it's all about birthdays! There will be a variety of birthday themed projects showcased all week, so you will want to check it out each day.

My birthday project is a great gift for that bookworm in your life. I created a card along with a gift card holder and a bookmark. The card is decorated using Birthday Phoebe along with the Overdue Library Card and the Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Big Birthday Balloon dies set. All of the paper is from Simple Stories Sunshine and Happiness collection.

If you book lover is more than a bookworm, then perhaps a book MONSTER would work better. I used the books from the Birthday Phoebe stamps, adding one of the cute monsters from the Silly Monsters set. The bookmark was created with the second largest die from the Bookmark/Tag set.

I find most avid readers are very happy receiving a gift card from their favourite bookstore. I created a gift card holder using the Medium Tear Away die and Tear Away Tab Sentiments Two.

If you want to see more amazing birthday projects head over to the YNS blog.

There is a chance to WIN a stamp set of your choice by leaving a comment over at the YNS blog. Leave a comment each during our birthday features (August 15 to 18) for greater odds of winning. At the end of the feature week, a winner will be drawn from all the comments.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!

Your Next Stamp - Teacher Appreciation (Birthday Phoebe)

Did you know that Teacher Appreciation weeks is coming up in May?

This week over on the Your Next Stamp blog, we are celebrating teachers and sharing gift giving ideas all week long!

For one of my daughter's teachers, I created a easel style note pad holder. The  holder fits 3x3 notes.

I sued the cute Birthday Phoebe on her lovely stack of books. I added the glasses to Phoebe using the Spectacular Teacher die set.

Here is the notepad holder when it's closed. The base of the note holders is 4.5 x 10.5 inches (scoring at 5, 5.5 and 8 inches). The holder for the actual notepad is 4 1/8 inches squared with scoring at 1/2 inch on each side),

If this little note holder is lucky enough to sit on the teacher desk, I have decorated the back using the Letter Board dies and the notebook from the Spectacular Teacher stamp set.

If you missed yesterday's projects from Holly and Anita, check it out here.

Head over to the Your Next Stamp blog to see more ideas on how you can created cards and gifts to say thanks to a teacher. There will be more features all week long and on Friday we will have a new Sketch/Colour challenge for your to play along with.

Your Next Stamp February Sneak Peek - Birthday Phoebe

It's preview time at Your Next Stamp!

I am so excited to finally share with you a preview of one of the amazing sets that is part of the February release for Your Next Stamp. A new release that will be available really soon! If you cannot wait until the release hop and you want to get a head start of your wish list, check out today's peeks.

The full list of preview projects can be found on the Your Next Stamp blog.

My preview project features the Birthday Phoebe stamp set. I was so excited to work with this stamp because the set includes a fabulous stack of books for Miss Phoebe to sit on. My house is full of bookworms (including myself), so I couldn't pass up the chance to make a bookmark. There are too many books (from my kids) with dog-eared pages or random papers, envelopes, pencil stuck between the pages to mark their place, so a few extra bookmarks around the house should fix that problem.

For the bookmark, I used the largest size from the Bookmark/tag Die set. I believe this is my most frequently used die. I just love making bookmarks for friends and family.

I try to keep my layers light because I don't want the bookmark to be too bulky. I usually eliminate my mat layers and just ink the edges of the paper to allow for that definition between layers. For a little glittery pop on the bookmark, I used Glossy Accents and glitter on Phoebe's shirt and in the little heart.

Enjoy our little preview of the Your Next Stamp February release. Remember to check out all of the previews from the DT. The complete list is on the YNS blog. Stamps and dies from the new release will be available February 7.

Stop back tomorrow to join our February release blog hop. There will be a lot of amazing projects to see and prizes to be won. You don't want to miss this amazing release. On February 10 we will also have our next DT Dare, which means there is another chance to win a prize!

Happy PEEKING everyone!

Tracy
