Your Next Stamp Sketch/Colour Challenge # 27 (Waddles Snow Fun)

Welcome to our sketch and colour challenge #26 at Your Next Stamp. Each challenge includes a sketch and colour options to inspire you.

Create a project based on the sketch and/or the colour combination. If you are working with the colours use at least 3 of the colours and you can add only neutrals.

I am still working away on a few Christmas cards for this year year. I never seem to have enough, so I find it safest to make a few more than I think I really need. For this week's challenge I used the sketch and Waddle Snow Fun. 

For the added sparkle to the Christmas baubles, I added the clear Wink of Stella over my coloured image. My image was cut out using the Stitched Rectangles die. 

On the inside of the card I stamped out another cute Waddles and used the sentiment from the Winter Home set.

Your Next Stamp - My Design Process

Happy Monday crafty friends. Today I am taking over the Your Next Stamp blog and showing off a bit about my creative process from selecting my stamps and paper, to sketching and putting it all together.

Here is the card I created with this process.

The image is Waddles snow Fun and I added the Winter Fun Tag die set. The paper is from Lawn Fawn called Snow Day.

Your Next Stamp October Release After Party

This past week I have been having a lot of fun sharing projects for this month's release over at YOUR NEXT STAMP. We are also super excited to celebrate the launch of the NEW Your Next Stamp website. It looks amazing, so if you haven't been, you MUST check it out.

Today, the design team is back to continue celebrating and showing off a few more projects for this wonderful release. You can see the complete list of these "after party" release projects at the YOUR NEXT STAMP blog.

Today I had the chance to create a second card using the adorable penguin from the WADDLES SNOW FUN set. I also added a few fun die cut elements from the MINI HOLIDAY ORNAMENTS DIE and the WINTER FUN TAG die set (snowflakes). My snowflakes were topped off with the White Sugar Gumdrops

The paper I used on the card is called Festive Winter from Wild Rose Studio. I created a distressed look to my card inking my paper with Vintage Photo Distress ink. For my die cut elements I used Kraft cardstock. The ornaments have the added sparkle of glitter. To do this I ran the die cuts through my Xyron sticker maker, then applied Glitter Ritz Microfine glitter, then I distressed the edges.

Finally the simple inside design of the card.

Your Next Stamp October Release Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to a very special Your Next Stamp blog hop?

Why is this hop so special? Not only do we have an amazing collection of stamps and dies to show off for the October release, we are also celebrating the launch of the new Your Next Stamp website.

The holidays are not too far off and today the design team and special guests are here to help spread a little Christmas inspiration. If you haven't yet thought about Christmas, this amazing release will help put you in the mood. There are so many fabulous stamps, dies and yummy Gumdrops to help you create cards, layouts, decorations and fabulous gifts for those on your nice list this year.

For my first card, I am showing off my favourite set from this release called WINTER HOME. I created a full winter scene complete with night sky and Santa and his reindeer which is from last year's holiday set CHRISTMAS MAGIC.

Although you can't really see from the pictures, the house is actually paper pieced to create slight dimension to the scene. I used the distress ink (salty ocean, broken china and faded jeans) to create my night sky on the background and added my first layer in which I just coloured the trees. I then added the paper pieced house, and finally the roof and front door/step.

To add the snow to my winter scene I used DecoArt Snow Writer. I find the product thick and gritty, so I added a bit of water and applied it to my scene with a fine tipped paint brush.

Here is a look at the inside of the card. I used one of the sets sentiments, re-stamped my house and added a couple of reindeer from the Santa image.

For my second card, I used the darling sweet penguin Waddles from the set WADDLES SNOW FUN. I also added the sentiment and stitched die cut element from the WINTER FUN TAG DIE set. The paper is Doodle Bug (Santa Express) and you may notice the delicious GLITTERED GUMDROPS, which I want to get in every colour!

To finish in the inside of my card I added elements from a 2013 die set called SLED WITH PRESENTS.
