Your Next Stamp - Sketch/Colour Challenge # 25

Welcome to our sketch and colour challenge #25 at Your Next Stamp. Each challenge includes a sketch and colour options to inspire you.

Create a project based on the sketch and/or the colour combination. If you are working with the colours use at least 3 of the colours and you can add only neutrals.

Today I worked the sketch into the design for a Halloween Treat box. At the request of my daughter (this is for her teacher) I used Waddle Trick or Treat; creating a treat box that is 2.5 x 2.5 x 4 inches.

I used the fun Doodlebug October 31 paper to decorate the tiny treat box.

On the back of the box I used the Halloween Phoebe die set to create spooky scene from black card stock.

For our sketch and colour challenge # 25 you have until October 29, 2015 (midnight) to play along. You can see more inspiration and link up your projects over at Your Next Stamp.

One random participant will WIN a $15 gift card to the YNS store. If you feature a YNS stamp or die (must be the main focal point) you will receive and additional $5. When you use a YNS image there is also a chance of being selected as a YNS Top Pick. That's right, bragging rights for you and a fabulous badge to show off on your blog! Sounds exciting right? Ink up your stamps and show us your crafty stuff!

Have a fabulous and crafty Friday friends!

Your Next Stamp October Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Your Next Stamp October new release blog hop.

This month we are featuring a fun and fabulous assortment fall, winter and Christmas stamps and dies. There is so much to see on this hop, so you may want to keep a note pad to jot down some of your favourites. I was very excited about all of the amazing winter stamps for this release. I know that Hot Cocoa Phoebe is so darling and quickly becoming a favourite of mine. You can see the treat box I created for yesterday's peek here.

Keeping in line with warm winter comforts, I inked up two big mugs of hot chocolate using CUP OF CHEER. There are so many fun elements in this stamp set. You can build any type of hot beverage and add so many little extras to make a super sweet treat!

I used masking to add some of my smaller extras to the inside of mug of hot chocolate. To showcase the mug I layered them on top of the STITCHED FISHTAIL TAG TWO die.

I love the gorgeous colours in the Doodlebug Frosty Friends paper. To highlight my sentiment I used the SCRAPWORK STRIPS DIE and a couple of mint green GUMDROPS.

Here is a look at the inside of my card. I used a sentiment from the WINTER HOME stamp set.

New stamp set featured:

My second card features the fun dancing elf from JINGLE ALL THE WAY. I kept this card simple and wanted to have the look of someone opening a present for a little peek! Not that I would ever snoop for my Christmas presents! I used the BOOKMARK die for my tag and added the "No Peeking" from the HOLIDAY SENTIMENTS set.

On the inside of the card I added the Santa from this set and the sentiment from the HOLIDAY SENTIMENTS set.

New stamp set featured:

In celebration of this month's release, Karen has a fabulous deal for you!

Your Next Stamp October Sneak Peek!

Today I am excited to share a peek of one of the new stamps from the YOUR NEXT STAMP October release. The Design Team is offering some fabulous PEEKS today, so sit back and enjoy! For the full list of preview projects this months, head over to the Your Next Stamps blog.

For my peek project I created a fun treat box, which features the super cute HOT COCOA PHOEBE. It's a perfect little box for gifting some delicious hot chocolate and maybe a few other yummy treats.

The box is double sided. One side can be created from an 8 x 10 sheet of cardstock and measures 4 (wide) x 5.5 (high) x 1.5 (deep) inches. To cut the "handle" of the box, I used one of the smaller Stitched Rectangle dies.

Here is a look at darling Phoebe. The paper is from the Carta Bella Bundle Up collection.

On the back side of the box I added a snowflake die cut from the Winter Fun Tag set.

This is a template showing my measurements for one side of the treat box. You will start with a 8 x 10 sheet of cardstock. Along the 8 inch side you will score at 0.5, 2, 6 and 7.5 inches. Then along the 10 inch side score at 3 and 4.5 inches (measured from the bottom of the box). The portions in grey are scrap. The red lines are where you will cut and the dashed lines are your score/fold lines. For the double sided box, you will cut and assemble two of these.

Enjoy our little preview of the YOUR NEXT STAMP October release. Remember to check out all of the previews available from the DT. The complete list is on the YNS blog. Stamps and dies from the new release will be available tomorrow, Thursday October 15th.

Stop back tomorrow, to join our October Release Blog Hop. There will be a lot of amazing projects to see and prizes to be won. You don't want to miss this release. On October 18th we also have our next DT dare and another chance to win a prize.

Happy PEEKING  everyone!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps October Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the KRAFTIN' KIMMIE STAMPS October release blog hop. Let's get comfy, grab your favourite drink and enjoy the hop.

This month has we've had the chance to work with so many amazing stamps sets. If you are not yet inspired to get working on your Christmas cards and other winter projects, you will be after this hop!

This week, our super sized previews were filled with a variety of winter and holiday images. We started our week off with TWO amazing sets from Becky Pearce called HAPPY WINTER DAYS and the sentiment set called CHRISTMAS CHEER!

Next up, was our frosty snowmen and friends, in the cool set by Cheryl Grant calls SNOW BUDDIES.

We then showcased a fun winter themed set from Annie Rodrigue, featuring our skilled snowboarding girl and not so skilled skier in the fun SNOW DAYS!

Finally we featured a set of darling critters having a little snow fun. This sweet set is designed by Emelie Goulet and is called ICE, ICE, BABY (sorry if you get that song stuck in your head...blame miss Kimmie for that one).

I am starting to plan and look at head at upcoming Christmas presents and gift ideas that will be needed. In my web search for inspiration, I found a few designs for treat boxes that I liked, however, I found the boxes a little small. I also wanted to add a few touches of my own.

I used the hockey playing squirrel from the fun (and one of my new favourites) ICE, ICE, BABY set, to create a treat box and card holder. The paper (also my new fav) is Echo Park Hello Winter.

This box took a bit of playing around to make this work. The treat portion on it's own was simple enough, however adding the note and gift card holder portion on the top required some thought. Most of the treat holder templates I found, the bottom box part was too small for my liking. This one is a nice size at 4 1/2 inches long by 1 1/2 inches high (and deep).

The top portion of the box/card holder is 4 1/2 square. The entire base of the project (box and card holder) was created from one 12 x 12 sheet of cards stock.

This was my first time creating this style of box, so I will write up some details on my next go round to share with everyone.

The top card holder part of the project was taped down along the bottom and side to create a nice pocket for a gift card and a note for the recipient.
