Your Next Stamp Sketch/Colour Challenge #43 (Coffee is the Boss)

Hello and welcome to another week of the Your Next Stamp sketch/colour challenge #43.

Every two weeks, there is a new challenge that features a sketch and colour inspiration. Pick the one that inspires you most, or try both for an added challenge. The best part of these challenges is you could win a gift certificate to the YNS store!

When using the colour inspiration, you must use at least 3 colours. You may also add neutrals

This week I used Coffee is the Boss and played around with the sketch. I like to use the sketches as a starting point and add my own little flare. This sketch has a great design for a nice clean and simple card. I have made a lot of those lately and today, I worked a few additional layers into my version of the sketch.

The fun paper is Creative Agenda from Echo Park. The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder. I added a few coffee splatters from the Coffee Rings stamp and decorated with the Love Me Some Latte Gumdrops

Inside the card I used the Java Geek stamp to decorate.

For the sketch/colour challenge # 43, you will have until Thursday July 21st (midnight EST) to play along. Head over to the Your Next Stamp blog for more inspiration and to link up your creation.

One random participant will win a $15 gift card to the YNS store. If you feature YNS products (it must be the main focus of your project), you will receive an additional $5. When you use a YNS stamp/die, there is a chance of being selected as the YNS top pick. The winner and top pick are announced on the YNS blog, the Sunday after the close of the challenge.

If you use YNS products on your project, you can also take part in the YNS Social Media challenge. Simply showcase your YNS sketch/colour challenge #43 project on Instagram, Splitcoast Stampers or Facebook. Your Next Stamp DT Dare (Java Geek)

Welcome for the last Design Team Dare of 2015 for the Your Next Stamp design team. Each month we given a special challenges to show off the newest stamps and dies of our current release. For the month of December our challenge is....... MY FAVOURITE THINGS. Please feel free to sign along if you know the words. I have had this song in my head for a week now!

My favourite things, I do have many.  Especially from the latest release! Consider this challenge ACCEPTED.

I used the new JAVA GEEK and the LARGE BOOKMARK die. I decorated this coffee themed bookmark with paper from Echo Park (The Story of Our Family) and embellished with GUMDROPS (Love Me Some Latte) and a handmade tassel.

There are a few of my favourite things capture in this picture. Coffee (in my favourite mug, hint also from one of my favourite books), books (mostly fantasy, another about the mug), stamps, pretty paper, and embellishments (Gumdrops of course).

If you head over to the Your Next Stamp blog for the December DT Dare post, leave a comment and there will be a chance for you to win! Prizes, another favourite thing of mine! You could WIN a stamp of your choice.

When I was coming up with a list of my personal favourite things, I realized I had enough for my own version of the song. Keep in mind the tune for the Sound of Music My Favourite Things as you read about some of my personal favourites. It's a little nerdy, but I had fun. My family does think I am a little crazy, because I am now singing my version.

What are some of your favourite things?

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Your Next Stamp December Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Your Next Stamp December new release blog hop.

This month we are featuring a variety of stamps, including cute animals, fun backgrounds, and my favourite LOTS of coffee related goodies. The dies this month are wonderful too, including a sweet treat box and long awaited stitched oval dies!

This release there is theme to my projects. I am still working on a few final handmade gifts and this month I made a number of new decorated notepad holders. They make a great gift for a teacher, boss, and friends. My first notepad holder, is one made for 3x3 sticky notes. I used the cute Word Critters Cats and Dogs set to decorate this easel style note holder. The paper is Simple Stories We Are Family.

I fussy cut the darling cat and hung him from the heat embossed sentiment. I used embroidery thread to create a ball of yarn to decorate the holder.

The back of the note holder was also decorated.

Here is a look at the stamp set used:

For my second project, I made a book style cover for a 5 x 8 inch notepad and decorated using the fabulous and fun Java Geek and Coffee Rings.

I paper pieced the cute coffee take away cup and featured it on the pattern paper cut using the stitched oval dies. The coffee title was heat embossed on navy cardstock using white embossing powder.

Here is a look at the inside of the holder. I created pockets to hold the notepad, so they can be changed out when they are empty.
