Our favourite little darlings Lulu, Lexi and Lucas are simply DINO-mite in the new CAVE KIDS set.  I used the ever fabulous Miss Lulu on my card.

This lil' prehistoric cutie Lulu is styling in her fur dress. The effect was created using pink and blue Sparkly Fluff. I stamped the image twice and applied liquid glue (Zig two way glue) first to the spots applying the blue fluff, then the rest of the dress with the pink fluff. I then paper pieced the dress onto my Copic coloured image.

On the inside, I used a few scraps of my pattern paper (Bo Bunny Modern Miss and Pink Paislee Pen Pals) and added Lucus, the cute dino and two of the sets sentiments.

Today I worked with the biting beauty VAMPIRE QUEEN!

Do you enjoy creating Halloween themed projects? I do for sure! I love creating Halloween cards and projects and the Vampire queen is truly FANG-TASTIC and fun to work with!

To create that spooky feel for my card, I used paper from We R Memory Keepers Black Widow collection along with flowers (Recollections) and the fun key and keyhole charms (Beading Landing). Everything was distress and inked with vintage photo distress ink. Cheese cloth was a perfect accent and this time I used a bit of water down black paint to grunge up the cloth.

The image is coloured with Copic markers.

Here is a peek at the inside of my card.

Some Bunny Loves You

I had the chance to take a break this weekend from crafty commitments to play along with a few challenges this week. It's been a while for this.

This is my first Easter card of the season and I used one of the adorable image from Kraftin' Kimmie designed by Cheryl Alger called Somebunny Loves you.

I love the bright colours in the Lawn Fawn 6x6 paper pad called Hello Sunshine. I created a little tag that can be tucked away behind the image.

The image in coloured with Copic markers.

Inside the card I decorated with more coordinating paper and added the circle die cut to hold my sentiment (which unfortunately is a bit off centre.....oops)!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will come back soon. Happy crafting.

Little Red Wagon # 222 - Child's Play

Yeah it's Wednesday and that means another fun challenge over at Little Red Wagon.

This is a very exciting moment for me, as this is my first time hosting a challenge with Little Red Wagon.  I'm glad you can't tell how nervous I am. My first challenge is called "CHILD'S PLAY" and I would like to see projects that are for a child. Birthday card, Valentine's, Easter, or just because, any occasion is fine! New baby, toddler or even teenager, they all work! This week is all about the kids!

January has been a very busy month for my girls and birthday parties. I have spent nearly every weekend running one or the other, and sometimes both of them to parties for their friends (usually on opposite ends of the city, with overlapping times). So of course my card for this week is a birthday card.

Since I am quite tired of what seems like a mountain of snow outside of my house, I wanted to have a card that really had me dreaming of warmer weather. For that I turned to one of my new Kraftin' Kimmie stamps called Summer Swingin! The paper is Little Yellow Bicycle "Hello Spring!"

Of course this isn't just any card.  I decided to have a bit of fun and made an easel card.

Card base is 11" x 4.25 (scored at 2.75" and 5.5"). The card front is 4.25" x 5.5"

The image is coloured with Copic markers. I also re-stamped the image on the pink background paper so when I fussy cut the Copic image, you can still see some of the detailed swirls underneath.

The inside sentiment is from Stampendous "Birthday Wish". The bottom portion of the card is raised up to support the card front. I die cut the flowers from pattern paper using My Favourite Things Layers Rose. I ran the pink flower through my Xyron and sprinkled it with Glitter Ritz fine white glitter. The Sweetest Wishes sentiment is from Tiddly inks set "Sweets for My Sweet".

Inside

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will play along with this week's "Child's Play" challenge. Just pop over to Little Red Wagon to link up your creations and remember to check out what "childish" projects the other Girlfriends have created this week.

Here Comes Santa Claus

It seems like such a long time since my last post. I have been very busy over the last week. Work has been crazy. I was part of the United Way committee at work. Last week we had our annual campaign so I was super busy with the kick off and events throughout the week. This was my first time volunteering for the United Way committee and I must say it was very rewarding and a lot of fun. Of course going into work tomorrow, I will have to catch up on everything I didn't get done last week.

I am still working on a number of Christmas projects. In addition to the many Christmas cards I am creating, my daughters and I have begun plans for this year's Christmas creations for their teachers and classmates. Stay tuned for more details.

This weekend I had the chance to use another of my Kraftin Kimmie stamps that I bought recently. This one is called Santa & Pup and it is super cute. I decided to use the stamp with the newest Deconstructing Jen sketch DS128.

Although I like the look of the square cards, I don't often make them, so I modified the sketch for my longer card. I used the Simple Stories December Documented collection. I love the colours in this collection.

I trimmed 1/2 inch from the right side of the card so you can see the striped paper added to the inside. I also love finding places to use the 3x4 cards in these collections. I don't do project life style scrapbooking, so I have a rather large collection of these cards.

The image is coloured with Copic markers. Crystal gems were added for buttons.

After applying glue (using my Zig two-way glue pen) to the trim of "Santa's" outfit, I added sparkling fluff. I also created the snow effect with the glue and Crystal Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter.

Using the Kraftin' Kimmie "Sleigh mail" stamp and Versa Mark ink, I heat embossed with Zing Chestnut embossing powder. I stamped the image on an open space of the Simple Stories paper so I knew it would match the rest of the papers I had used.

The inside of the card is decorated with a 4x6 card from the Simple Stories December Documented collection. The sentiments are from Your Next Stamp "Holiday Sentiments".

Baking Time

I can slowly feel myself getting more excited about the holidays as I continue to make Christmas cards. With all the stamps that I want to use, I hope that I have enough time to create. Working full time, family time and kids activities keeps me busy, so my creative window is small. I am sure it doesn't seem that way to my husband. This week I actually took my Copic markers and a few images to my daughter's dance lesson. The time just flew past.

This card features a stamp that I picked up last weekend. A local scrapbooking store was hosting a garage sale and I picked up a  lot of stamps for only $40.00. I was so excited. There were a few Kraftin' Kimmie stamps that I was so happy to give a good home.

I love the cute Baking Elf by Kraftin' Kimmie stamps.

For this card I used a Deconstructing Jen sketch DS124.

The image is coloured with Copic markers. My daughter thinks she looks like Strawberry Shortcake.

This stamp is also from Kraftin' Kimmie. It is the Built Your Own Trinket stamp combined with the sleigh mail (gingerbread man).

Challenges:
Two Scrapbooking Friend: November Craft Challenge (use a doily)
Kraftin Kimmie: Anything goes
Deconstructing Jen: Sketch DS 124

Thanks for taking a peek at my newest holiday card. Now I feel like I should be getting my baking to do list started.
