Little Red Wagon (Distress It) / The Paper Nest Dolls (Guest)

Hello crafty friends. I hope you are all have a wonderful week so far. Today it's time for new challenge at Little Red Wagon.

I am also sharing my project for my final month as a Guest Designer for The Paper Nest Dolls.

This week, I am hosting the challenge at Little Red Wagon, and I went with something easy and fun. This week, my challenge is called DISTRESSING IT. So it's simple, just ink your papers, fray your edges or add a few tears to your paper. Even better, do them all.

For my distressed card I used the image MADDIE WITH GLASSES from The Paper Nest Dolls. Plenty of inking, frays and rips on my paper.

The paper is from My Minds Eye (Notable). I used a the Notebook Edge Die from Your Next Stamp. All of the  paper is inked with Vintage Photo Distress ink.

Inside the card I added a sentiment from Your Next Stamp Heartfelt Sentiments.

Little Red Wagon # 286 - Spots, Dots and Blots

It's another busy posting day for me with my second of the day. Today we have a great new challenge over at Little Red Wagon. Joanne is our fab hostess and she is seeing DOTS, SPOTS AND BLOTS this week.

With a fun challenge like this, there are so many options and one could go overboard. I managed kept my dots and spots in check, with the few touches of my Doodlebug Sprinkles (Bright Glitter) enamel dots and the pretty Doodlebug paper (Sun Kissed). The sweet image is a clear stamp from Tiddly inks called HOPPING BY.

Little Red Wagon - Spring is in the Air

Welcome to another challenge at LITTLE RED WAGON. This week COLLETTE is in charge and her challenge is all about SPRING. More specifically she wants to see a project with a strong floral theme. Well considering we were showered with a nice covering of snow this past Easter weekend, I am happy to flaunt the florals!

For my card I dug into my stash and pulled out a stamp that I have had for almost a year and not yet used. I am ashamed. This My Favorite Things Birdie Brown Sunflower Sweetheart. She is now inked, coloured and placed on a lovely card filled with pretty coloured flowers. The bright Doodlebug paper (Happy Camper) was perfect for this image.

Little Red Wagon (Beachy Keen)/The Paper Nest Dolls (Guest)

Welcome to another fun filled days with lots of crafty goodness. It's Wednesday and that means we are at the half way point of the work week! It also means another challenge over at Little Red Wagon.

I am so excited to be back for another guest design spot with The Paper Nest Dolls. I have just fallen for these adorable images. They are so fun to colour and create with. You really should check out all of the amazing stamps in the store. 

Today at Little Red Wagon, Heather is our creative hostess and I think she has finally had enough of winter. She is so fed up with the cold temperatures we have been having, that she is bypassing Spring and channelling the hot of summer. Her theme this week is called BEACHY KEEN and she would like to see something summery!

I am so happy for this challenge and I am also ready for hot, warm temperatures.

I once again stepped away from making a card and made book style note holder using a  Paper Nest Dolls image called BEACH BALL EMMA.

This sweet image was coloured with Copic markers.

This book style note holder is a different from my first one (here) as I created a double flap.

Inside of the flaps of the holder, I added little brown paper bags (Michaels - Recollections), and added a few of the 4 x 6 journal cards from the Simple Stories I {heart} Summer paper collection.

When the holder is open, the 5 x 8 inch note pad ($ store) slides into a pocket I created. This way you can replace the paper when it's empty or use the pocket for holding pictures, notes, or other summer treasures.

The pocket style scrapbook paper from Simple Stories worked really well to decorate this fun summer journal set.

The base of this altered notebook was created using 2 sheets of 8.5 x 11 inch 110 lb. white cardstock. I will be creating another of these altered not books one in the next few weeks and will have a tutorial to share later in March (hopefully).

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps/Little Red Wagon

It's another dual posting day for me, so I am sharing a card for Little Red Wagon and Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Here is a bit about these challenges:

KRAFTIN' KIMMIE STAMPS 

These amazing Wonderful Wednesday challenges are ANYTHING GOES.....so there really is no reason not to play along. Grab your stamps and lets get inky. We of course love when you use a Kraftin' Kimmie image (which will double your chances for winning) however we will welcome any stamps. Create a new card, layout or altered item and share with us over at the KKS blog. At the end of the month, one random winner will be chosen from all the submissions and will receive a $20 Gift card to the shop. Worth playing......for sure!

LITTLE RED WAGON

Today over at Little Red Wagon Carolyn is our fabulous hostess and her challenge is called PEEK A BOO. That means she would like you to create a card with a window in it. 

I went very literal in my interpretation of this challenge and I used the new IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY by Cheryl Grant for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. The paper is Simple Stories Summer Fresh. I am channeling my warm, sunny, flowery vibes and hopefully winter we go away soon.

I created some dimension with my window by stamping the image 3 times to create different layers of the image. I didn't use dimensional adhesive because I want a subtle depth to the image.

Inside of the card, I used a second image from this set and added a sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps WORDS OF INSPIRATION set.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps & LIttle Red Wagon (Winter Blues)

It is that fabulous day of the week! Not only have we reached the half way point of the work week. Oh yeah, that weekend is so close! But, it's also time for TWO fabulous challenges. That's right I am duel hosting this week.

The Wonderful Wednesday challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is ANYTHING GOES. That's pretty easy. Create a new card, layout or altered item and share it with us over at the KKS blog or our Facebook group (here). You can see all the challenge details over on the blog.

I am  also challenge hostess at LITTLE RED WAGON! My theme for this week's challenge is called WINTER BLUES. Show me winter or lots of blue. Your choice, I'm not picky! You can even show me winter with lots of blue. That's not too difficult right?

This week, my card features an image from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps called Cuddle up and Keep Warm.  I just love the rich colours in the Bo Bunny Altitude collection. I matted the paper with navy and teal card stock and inked all the edges for a distressed look.

I added additional blues in my Copic coloured image and embellished with blue brads, eyelets (finally got those worked into a card) and blue twine.

Finally a peek at the inside of the card.

Little Red Wagon #270 - It's Another Happy New Year!

I am  hosting this week's challenge at LITTLE RED WAGON. We are getting ready to say good-bye to 2014 and my challenge for today is called ANOTHER HAPPY NEW YEAR! Create a project that celebrates New Year's!

I created a punny card using a cute image from Whimsie Doodles called New Year's Lush. I am happy to finally use this image which I have had since last new year's.

Inside the card I used an image and sentiment from Your Next Stamp called Clink.

Little Red Wagon #269 Happy Birthday

Happy Christmas Eve day crafty friends. Are you ready for Christmas? I finished my shopping on the weekend and spent a long time wrapping. I did have a bit of time to work on a quick card for this week's LITTLE RED WAGON challenge.

Jan is looking after the challenge for this week and it's an easy one......HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Create a new project that is birthday related.

For this weeks challenge I shifted away from Christmas/winter and I created a simple birthday card using "Big Birthday Wishes" from My Favorite Things. The paper is Pink Paislee Solstice.

For the added glitter to the balloons, I used Glitter Ritz Micro fine glitter on top of my Copic coloured balloons. I applied the glitter after using the Zig two way glue pen. Last time I used the glitter I had used Glossy accents. If you want the glitter with dimension, the Glossy accents are a good thing to use.

Little Red Wagon # 246 - I need a Vacation

Welcome to this week's challenge over at Little Red Wagon.

This week I am hosting the challenge and since I am enjoying a bit of downtime (from work), I am calling this challenge I NEED A VACATION!

What exactly does that mean? Well it means you can create a card or project with a vacation or travel theme. You could show a mode of transportation, a travel destination, a vacation activity or travel themed items such as luggage, maps, passports or postcards (just to name a few).

There are lots of possibilities and since I am enjoying a bit of rest and relaxation right now, I am not going to be too picky on your interpretation of this challenge! Just have fun!

For my card this week I focused on a vacation activity like surfing and going to the beach. Not that I have ever surfed, but I do enjoy the beach!

The Simple Stories summer collections (Walking on Sunshine, Snap Summer) went really well with this fun image called Surfer Ian from Greeting Farm. My surf board was hand cut and the Hawaiian shirt was cut using my Cricut Pack your Bags cartridge. To finish off my vacation theme I added a fun post card from an older Simple Stories collection with a sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Beachy Keen set.

Surfer Ian is coloured with Copic markers and unfortunately I wasn't successful in achieving a tanned look like I wanted. Instead I got more of a "forgot to apply sun screen" look to his skin.

I kept the inside of the card simple and used the bottom portion of one of the Simple Stories 12x12 pages that included this fun car scene. For my sentiment I added a card from the Snap Summer set.

Little Red Wagon # 245 - Happy Anniversary

It's time for another fabulous challenge over at Little Red Wagon!

This week Jayne is setting our challenge and her theme is HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

For this challenge I worked with two areas that really challenge me:

1. Clean and Simple
2. Masculine

Here a simple anniversary card just right for that special man in your life. Except mine however as he would question why I was using a coffee theme to express my love, since he cannot stand the stuff. Crazy I know!

The image is Fiskars Latte Love and I paired that with some masculine papers in my stash from Kaiser Craft's Utopia Collection. The image is coloured with Copic markers. The heart was paper pieced and the entire image cut out using the fun Stitched Journalling die from Lawn Fawn.

Inside the card I used kraft card stock with additional patterned paper and another cup of coffee and my anniversary sentiment.
