National Scrapbook Day Blog Hop

Welcome to the Two Scrapbook Friends National Scrapbook Day Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Jayne's blog. Wasn't her layout amazing. A lot of great inspiration for you to see!

My letter is

and my technique to share with you today is REPEAT, REPEAT!

There are many fun ways to play around and create with repeating elements on your layouts. You can repeat a photo, an embellishment, paper or technique.

For my layout I feature a number of repeats. Can you spot them all?

I used the amazing new Simple Stories DIY Boutique line along with the "Her!" SN@P cards and stickers and new DIY tags. I love Simple Stories and the DIY collection is amazing. The pattern paper, fun colours and those great DIY elements really makes this collection so much fun to create with.

One of my first repeating elements on my layout is with my photo.  The colours in this Simple Stories collection are bright and vibrant. Since my photo had a lot of distracting colours, I printed my pictures in black and white.

Two of my pictures are of the same image, however I really wanted to capture that fabulous look on my daughter's face (not the least bit camera shy). To do that I simply cropped the second picture and print the photo to fit inside the polaroid frame (approx. 3 x 3.5).

Another great way to repeat on your layout is with your embellishments. On this layout I created 3 clusters of embellishments to create a of a visual triangle on the page. Included in all of my clusters are a camera, matching polk-a-dot paper (which is also the mat for my background paper), and a small circle element. In two of my clusters, I also used a DIY tag.

A final area for repeating on my page was creating dimension. I did this in a couple of ways including applying modeling paste with my Prima Marketing camera stencil in various places on my background paper. Adding foam adhesive under some of my embellishments and photo corners and inking the edges of my paper and embellishments with black ink.

Now it's time for you to hop over to Joanne's Blog. And remember to leave a comment on each blog as you go. This way you will qualify to be in a draw for a FABULOUS Blog Hop prize!
