Little Red Wagon & Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Click for the Your Next Stamp August Sneak Peek post.

Today I am multitasking and combining this week's post for Little Red Wagon, along the challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps where I am a guest designer.

At the Little Red Wagon blog, Jan is hosting and her challenge for us this week is EMBOSSING! Grab your embossing folders or powder or maybe even get creative and use a bit of both.

You can also play along with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Wonderful Wednesday challenge.  They are a lot of fun and on Wednesdays they are always ANYTHING GOES! Kimmie and the Krafty Girls want everyone to be able to play along so your submission can use any stamp and be any theme, style and design. Create a card, layout or altered item and join the fun! Your project must be new and you can submit it over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge blog (until August 12th at midnight). At the end of the month one random winner will be chosen from the submissions and receive a $20 gift card to the shop!

I love embossing and I really don't feel like I use it enough on my cards. For my project I went to my go to embossing technique using white embossing powder on black card stock. Kind of looks like a chalk picture.

I used an image from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps called Rainy Day Fun.

To create the effect, I stamped the image in Versa Mark ink, sprinkled white embossing powder and heat set the image. I repeated this stamp on the pattern paper so I could paper piece the umbrella and Lexi's little rain boots. There are so may fun ways to add pops of colour to your image.

I coordinated this rainy day image with paper from Pink Paislee's "Hello Sunshine" collection. The die cut cloud and sun are from Lawn Fawn (Spring Showers).

Inside the card I added a second image and a couple of the sentiments from the Rainy Day Fun set.

I hope you will join us at Little Red Wagon for this weeks EMBOSSING challenge! Head over to the blog to link up your projects and remember to check out the inspiration from the rest of the GIRLFRIENDS!

Please also check out the Kraftin' Kimmie Wonderful Wednesday challenge. You will find more details and inspiration from the Krafty Girls and Guest at the challenge blog!

Thanks for stopping by and have a Wonderful Wednesday!!!

  1. What a great tecnique. I will have to try it. I really like the pop of colour on the black image. And I also like the way you finish the inside of your cards.
