Little Red Wagon # 231 - Make it Masculine

Yeah it's Wednesday! Not only is it the middle of the week it's also time for another fun challenge over at Little Red Wagon.

This week Jan is the Girlfriend on deck and she has a fabulous challenge and that is for us to "Make it Masculine".  I think that pretty straight forward with no further explanation required.

I love this challenge because for me making anything masculine is truly a challenge. Despite  growing up with 3 brothers and being a tomboy in my earlier years, I now struggle with cards for the men in my life.

Having two little girls for me it's all about princesses, fairies, flowers, pink and purple.....oh yeah and glitter!

For my card I dug into my stash and pulled out the most masculine paper I could find. To be honest my "stash" of masculine papers consists of maybe four 6x6 pads of paper. To go with the The Simple Stories "Take a Hike" paper, I found this stamp I bought a few years back and hadn't yet inked.

Nothing says manly like burlap and a bit of distressing.

The image is a wood mounted stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs called Fisherman.

Inside the card I used a few of the cute......I mean manly cut apart cards that are in the 6x6 paper pad. They work so well as embellishments for cards.

Are you up for joining our "Make it Masculine" challenge this week? Head over to the Little Red Wagon blog and check out the manly inspiration by the other Girlfriends, then link up your own project on the Little Red Wagon blog page.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card. Please come back soon. I have a lot of great projects coming up this month.

  2. Fabulous coloring on this little WS image. And that burlap...what an awesome idea. I wouldn't have thought of that, so thanks for the inspiration! This card is perfect for that little guy or man since it's a clean design and colored wonderfully...any guy (big or small) would love this. Hugs, Gail
