Little Red Wagon # 232 - Feature a Wood Veneer

It's Wednesday and that means another challenge over at Little Red Wagon.

This week Rosanne is issuing the orders and she is challenging us to feature wood veneer on our projects.

Well I am assuming I am not alone in thinking this challenge is a great opportunity to really dig into our stash of wood veneer. I don't know about anyone else, but I have a decent collection of wood veneer, but I tend to use this great embellishment more on my layouts. I haven't however done much with it in my card making.

At first I couldn't decide which of my wood veneer that I wanted feature. My initial goal was to try and use a number of pieces, you know really dig into that growing stash I have. Unfortunately as much as I picked up and stared at the buttons, flowers, butterflies, stars and hearts etc, I couldn't do anything with them. So frustrating. Finally I settled on a large camera from Kaiser Craft and used this as the focal point on my card. The camera went really well with the Simples Stories "A Charmed Life" paper, which I cut into strips to create a sunburst type effect behind the camera.

Inside the card I decorated with more of the Simple Stories paper. I created a few banners with the scraps from the front and added the sentiment (Your Next Stamp Heartfelt Sentiments) and camera (Bo Bunny).

Well, I have one less in my wood veneer stash at least!

I hope you find time to join us over at Little Red Wagon for this weeks challenge. Don't forget to stop by each of the Girlfriends blogs to check out their wooden veneer inspired creations. Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty week.
