Your Next Stamp - DT Dare

Hello crafty friends.

Did you enjoy the January release from Your Next Stamp? Super cute release right?

Today the Design Team is back with the fun DT Dare. What is the dare this time? Well, this month we have been challenged to create a project that is CAS (clean and simple) and roed and white. Okay this one was a challenge. Not only am I limited with my colours, I have to go with CAS. You may have noticed that is not generally a go to style for me.

To keep things simple I went small and created a couple of Valentine's tag treat holders. They were simple....kinda.....once I figure out how I was going to attach the tag to the "test tube". The boxes were really simple, only 3 or 4 tossed away before I got the boxes right. Hey I got the red and white (and a bit of black). Black works for Valentine's day right?

Okay onto my project. I used one of my favourite sets from this release, PERFECT CHEMISTRY along with the tag from the WINTER FUN TAG die set.

I wasn't sure how I was going to attach the tags to the test tubes, so I ended up creating a small box at the back to slide the tube into. It really wasn't too hard. I just scored a heavy cardstock to fold around the tube and then glued the cardstock to the back of the tag. The test tubes were great finds at Michaels. They are glass, so these will likely be Valentine's treats that go to my kids teacher's.

For my wacky scientist, I created a chalkboard look with white embossing powder on black card stock. Add a touch of white pigment ink for a more chalky look. I heat embossed the shirt also, but on white cardstock and then coloured this with Copics and fussy cut it. I know, I know, there is a bit of pink in there too. Oops.

The second tag I used the cute test tube stamp. The image is coloured with Copics and fussy cut and adhered to the tag with dimensional adhesive.

You will want to head over to the Your Next Stamp blog and check out the DT Dare post for this month. Comment at the post for a chance to win a prize. Pretty easy and you get to see more fabulous projects from my teamies!

Thanks for dropping in today and please stop back soon. Have a super Saturday!
